The words Pine Island set large in a serif face between two short rust rules. Below them, "EST. 1885" and the coordinates "26.5972° N / 82.1254° W". 1885 is the year St. James-on-the-Gulf, the company that founded St. James City at the island's south end, was incorporated. The island holds four small communities: St. James City, Pineland, Bokeelia and Pine Island Center.
